University of Portsmouth位於英國南部著名海濱城市Portsmouth，由1869年建立的樸次茅斯戈斯波特文理學院發展而來，於1900年開始頒發學士學位。自從1992年改為綜合性大學至今，已成為英國規模較大的大學之一，擁有學生20,000餘名左右。其中國際學生佔14%左右。該大學的成績被國際一流企業組織所承認，並且是英國畢業生就業記錄最高的大學之一。學生滿意度測試中，被評為英國最好的現代化大學之一。在2012-13世界大學排名中，樸次茅斯大學位列第301-350名區間。學校有兩個主要校區，一個位於城市的中心，朴茨茅斯市政廳旁邊；另一個位於東部海邊朗斯通（Langstone）校區。
大學下設五大學院：商學院、人文社會科學院、創意與文化產業學院、工學院、理學院。開設有英語課程、學士預科、學士課程和碩士博士等課程。是HND項目合作會員。
